"Bermondsey Stutter" is on par with the best songs on Crazy on the Weekend.

I think I might prefer this album's version of "Hurricane" over the one on COTW

I definitely don't, the CotW version is perfect. I honestly usually don't even bother listening to the CotW era songs here as they're all inferior to the CotW versions imo.

Yeah, but this album has burmondsey stutter so there's that

Album Rating: 5.0
Also I disagree that they're inferior
I think some versions work even better when it's just Gavin's voice and a guitar

Album Rating: 4.5
yeah idk, this one just doesn't do nearly as much for me as Crazy on the Weekend (aside from the obvious highlights). I probably still haven't given this one quite enough attention though to be honest.

Bumped up my rating for this, this is a very different beast than Crazy on the Weekend, but the amount of genius songs packed into this thing is undeniable. It's kind of ridiculous that a collection of what are basically demos written and recorded at random by this guy over the course his life ends up being better than any album most artists will ever make. He was one of the very best.
R.I.P. Gavin

Makes you wonder how many more Gavin Clarks there are out there whose work will never see the light of day...

Littered across 'the arts' a fair few probabaly. Definitely people who've had books unpublished and stuff.

It's a shame. The masses will always eat up drivel no matter the format while the Gavin's of the world get the shaft.

The masses are dictated to and lap up any old shite, they still hanker for the genuine and by Christ did Gav deliver.
I've had a tear in me eye listening to this for fuck sake. Outrageous.
