BUT the pretension of musicians is commonly understood to make music qualitatively worse (Yeezus, that Myrimin album), although pretension is not really measurable outside the consciousness of the artist, but of course one can still speculate that there was pretension involved. so there's assuredly pretentious musicians and no pretentious music but it definitely factors into the quality of the music nonetheless.
