half the songs are really boring, songs 7-11 all kind of suck

he left during the recording of whenever, if ever, so he's not on some of the songs, they did a good job of having the vocals sound similar and having a lot of instrumental passages to disguise his absence

just to be clear, it's tom who left during the recording and whose vocals are primarily featured on the album. dave came in to replace him and finish off the tracks and it definitely helped that he kinda sounds like tom / can put on a good tom impression.
