"I'm growing to like the Line more and more as a standalone, but I agree with Wait. Devastating lyrical value and great positioning just before the end, but hardly a highlight."

I felt it was a standalone because it seems like something off Sufjan Steven's Carrie & Lowell. It has a "Death with Dignity" feel to it. A lot of The Acts have a grandiose elegance feel. "The Line" is very minimal and I'll agree that it doesn't necessarily fit, musically speaking, but it wound up being my favorite of the album. But that's just my opinion.

Can we all talk about how good Waves and King of Swords are?

I thought King of Swords was going to end up being really annoying and overly happy after hearing the first 8 seconds or so, but damn does it have an incredible chorus.

Waves is a SOTY contender (top 10 at this moment, not sure where it'd fall). Night on the Town is good too, but more of an afterthought compared to the others I just mentioned.

Those are the 3 songs that stick out immediately but I've only listened to this twice all the way through, and it was on a blank CD in my car where I didn't have the song titles to look at. Once I figre out which songs are which, I'll be blowing this thread up with comments.

I'll admit I thought I was going to hate Kind of Swords at first as well but fuck it, I just have so much fun with that song, even if it feels a bit misplaced.

Is There Anybody Here? deserves more love; that chorus comes out of nowhere and adds so much impact to it, whilst the verses are still gripping and that guitar solo is fantastic.

Waves is pretty much the perfect TDH single and I could listen to it all day. Not so sure about King of Swords though, it's pretty cool and fun but not on the same level as most of the other tracks.

If All Goes Well, At the End of the World and The Squeaky Wheel are also superb

Waves is wonderful. King of Swords sounds like "My Sharona" got nauseous at the state fair, imo. Probably my most hated moment of the album

That's what I thought about King of Swords at first, but eventually how fun it is outweighed my disdain for how out of place it is.

And yes, Is There Anybody Here is heavily underrated.

Album is AOTY

Waves is SOTY

The last "I can't see the lighthouse" moment is beyond stunning.

Waves is realistically in my top 4-6 songs of 2015

But I listen to a lot of music so that's pretty incredible still

King of Swords is just too much fun. Not sure how anyone can resist that exuberant bounce of a vocal hook.

albums rules.

A bit let down by Squeaky Wheel though. the first half of it is just so good and it kind of trails off

didn't expect king of swords, then during king of swords didn't expect that outro :-P

haven't listened enough to rate but it seems good so far. I'd say it seems more diverse than some (all?) of the acts at least. Then again I haven't jammed act 1 or 2 in a long time so I could be forgetting some stuff.

I'm pretty sure King of Swords is going to be the most hated song on this.
