I think the instrument that you play affects your perspective while listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Guitarists, bassists, and drummers seem to notice a lot of different, minute details.

How's my little Ian liking it so far?

Anthony Keidis's vocal harmonies are fucking aweful. There are so many things about this album that could have been good, but instead, just sucked. So Much I is absolutely disgusting.

I heart this album right now. I've listened to both discs so far (Jupiter being my favorite as of now). My doubt of Flea not playing up to his standards were shot down though, he again proves to me why he is one of the greatest bassits to ever play...this whole album is greatThis Message Edited On 05.09.06

I think his playing is somewhat subpar to BSSM and Mother's Milk, but it's definitely great.

Oh yes, I totally agree with that all the way. Still, the stuff he plays on here is about 5x better than other bassits out there today, save Les Claypool, who I view to be equally as good as Flea.

I liked the song By The Way and I like RHCP's later more melodious stuff than their in your face funk.

And Iluvatar, what bassits might you be talking about? Im not being sarcastic, but I'd like to know who I might've overlooked when I made that comment (Not trying to be a dick or anything, I just wanna know so I can check out some of their work, ya know)

I can't decide a favorite, there are just so many good songs, I'll have to listen to it more to decide, I sacrifice my time gladly
So far I really like We Believe, Desecration Smile, Only 18, Warlock, She Looks to Me

My brother woke up early before school so he could go to the store and buy it (the first one to get it). I tagged along, and I should have bought my own coppy.

Oh, and the bassist from Maroon 5 is pretty ace too.
I honestly cant stand Maroon 5, but the songs I have heard do have some pretty cool bass lines...

I haven't listened to Mars too much yet, but Jupiter is really good, and Snow is my favourite song off this album so far. I'm a big fan of most bands ballads, so that's probably why I like this album so much. Ballads just let you create something more beautiful. I'm a little disapointed that none of the other up-tempo songs have a similar vibe to Dani California.
