I'm still on my first listen through, but so far this is probably the easiest BTBAM album for me to get into... Which seems to go against what a lot of other people are saying. This has always been a band where I'd have to give an album like 4 or 5 listen throughs before I'd start to appreciate it. I'm already enjoying this one. It's probably because of the more accessible style.

I've never been a big fan of Tommy's growls. The heavy portions of BTBAM songs tend to just bludgeon you (not in a good way) and I kind of tend to lose interest until they inevitably take a left turn and go into a polka or whatever the fuck they decide to do lol. .

Having Tommy switching to doing mostly cleans is actually preferable to me. Not that they're particularly good, I just prefer them to his growling. Going mostly clean makes the moments when he has growled so far actually pretty enjoyable

"TGM wasn't bad but I agree it's their weakest album"

Everything AFTER TGM.

TGM was a fantastic album. For me it was BTBAM at their most fun, while colors was BTBAM at their smartest. Alaska was just some rockin shit. The parallax bullshit and the teasers for this album suck

TGM was their most mature release IMO.

I'm not sure if I'd say TGM was the most mature, but its definitely a contained and focused album. Like you open a book and finish it. It's a journey. So is colors, but I think colors is slightly better.

Their music has always been dull as fuck and the vocals are awful. Won't be listening any time soon.

Colors is probably their best but it did very little for me otherwise.

I need to listen to this more, but I'm actually one of the few who seems to really like this new direction they've taken

I feel like lots of fans of the old style will be surprised and some wont like it. But people who couldn't get into them before may like this the best.

Bought VIP tickets and seeing these guys the 24th, from this album they are playing The Coma Machine, Memory Palace and Famine Wolf. Really bummed for not including Option Oblivion or Turn on the Darkness.
