Got a copy of this signed by CJ before he left the band

Good shit. They kill it live.

That's fucking awesome man. Yeah, I have this and Hate on vinyl, they are one of the few deathcore bands that I love. Only saw them live once and it was during a festival so it wasn't very long, but holy fuck were they heavy. It's too bad that core kids (unsurprisingly) go to deathcore shows, that means that I can only drink and watch at those concerts instead of going in the pit.

Pit was good when they played, didn't get into that out-of-hand dumbass flailing that you see a lot. They played a lot from Hate, which was nice.

If you like this, try Kingdoms Burn. Nice lil underground release that does the genre better than most.

Ovid's Withering too. Shit is essential.

Looks like CJ is still doing stuff here and there, just featured on another Boris the Blade song

I'm holding out the hope that now he's married and life's good he might return to TAIM.

As far as I know that's why he won't return. From what I understood he wanted to settle down, have a family and a more stable job.

Yeah true, though I thought it had more to do with the band making a ridiculously small amount of money and he couldn't continue with it while he was trying to pay for a wedding, get his life going etc.

That's true as well. Really unfortunate stuff.

Band life seems glamorous, but it can be a real shit show and a helluva grind.

Who is his replacement? I haven't even paid attention to it

Dude from Molotov Solution last I heard but I haven't really been paying attention. Pretty sure he's only a live vocalist though and they haven't actually replaced CJ yet.

I wouldn't mind the Molotov Solution vocalist as a replacement, he's pretty killer

Also yeah, if you're not like ridiculously well known in metal it can be really strenuous economically. I honestly don't even get how many bands do this for a living given how hard of a life it must be if you aren't really well known.

Not even just metal. Music in general is such a competitive, over-saturated market. That's why a lot of lesser-known acts have the band as side-project and have other careers as priorities.
