Yeah I don't think people really hated magnolia...it's such a hard album to hate.

Little late here, but I felt the soft and broken introduction to the majority of tracks was very strong. I can't say I feel it took away anything from the album, rather adding to the very dark mood it sets.

On the more lyrical side, Hotelier.
On the more instrumental side, Misser.

This is pretty cool, but is it really worth all this hype?

Hell yea, this is a killer from go to stop. Listened to it in the park and wanted to kill myself. From eating cotton candy. Such a cool vibe I get from the hazy sound.

this and hotelier aren't lyrically similar at all to me. also does not sound even kind of like misser

in the words of Bojack Horseman
true dat
i was saying that Hoteleir is more lyrical and that misser is more crazy on the instrumentals. didn't mean to say that those were the areas where they're identical.
|
| |
i find hotelier to be more advanced and talented at their instruments than misser. don't listen to either much anymore though
after a lot of listening i think magnolia is better than this

after hearing this, the new title fight, superheaven and citizen albums, it seems like turnover's the only one out of all those pop punk bands that changed their sound again and didn't end up having a noticeable dip in quality

AOTY for me so far. Saw them when they came by with Fireworks and they only played stuff from this album. It was fucking sick

I really liked how "Cutting My Finger's Off" had a really loose structure with no defined chorus. I was quite surprised when literally every other song was strict verse chorus structure. That being said, the album is really great, even though it took a different direction that I was hoping for. So relaxing !
One soft spot is the drumming, I really wish they would have tried to vary the tempos and drum beats a little.
