Ehem.

THIS IS THEIR BEST ALBUM SINCE DOWNTOWN BATTLE MOUNTAIN!!!!

There isn't a bad song on here. Like there's no filler tracks. I only think Legend is mediocre.

Dont murder me for saying this but I kind of wish Jonny Craig was doing the cleans.

I don't really get the love for Downtown Battle Mountain (the first). Maybe it's because I wasn't around at the time or because I haven't really given it a proper listen but it just seems like a more boring (aside from Craig's vocals) version of what they would do on later albums. Certain songs i've heard from it are good but when I try to start it up it just hasn't done anything for me. Should I just be trying harder? I'm sure that if I gave it a proper listen and listened without trying to compare it to newer stuff that I would enjoy it more at least

I love Legend because it really does remind me of Tides of Man, with the way Tilian's vocals ebb and flow in the verses and just the explosive chorus, especially the second one where the guitar comes in in a much more prominent way

tilian is fantastic on Legend but instrumentally I think it's easily the weakest song on the album

DBM I isn't bad but they've surpassed it frequently since

this is not one of those occasions

never listened to anything from them though the vocalist of secret band (who I thinks the same dude as on this) is an absolute beast. sounds like a fun listen from the review.

@DirEnRefused Yes, Jon Mess the unclean vocalist is the vocalist from Secret Band. SB also features Dance Gavin Dance's guitarist (Will Swan) and drummer (Matt Mingus). Not to mention, the secondary Secret Band guitarist actually appears on a few of these tracks as well. I would definitely start with "Shark Dad" if you appreciate Jon Mess.

Surprised by all the 4.5s thrown around here, I'm enjoying this but I just can't get into it as much as previous albums.

Id be inclined to agree with you in other circumstances but not for this

Just remember that for every album that gets acclaimed on sput theres someone who will not like it and will believe it to be overated.
