Last track is the best in my opinion.

Sorry to disappoint Eddie.

I'm exactly the opposite to your thoughts Daniel. It seems like many people cannot disregard hype... Nor control - even ignore - their expectations. Know where you're coming from, because I have the staff label, but at the end of the day, I'm just calling it the way I see it.

Ebola's thoughts on the album are probably more what I expected from the majority. Maybe Ebola can disregard the hype, the staff tagged review, etc... better than most. I even agree with him for the most part about the way the guitars are produced.

And yes hC, that closer is a ripper.

I kinda have the feeling that this guys would earn way more hate from all people praising them here if the lead singer was some emo dude like Kellin Quinn. Still, sounds decent. Gonna give it an extended listen.

Edit: LoL just noticed Kellin Quinn is actually featured on the album. Furthermore, this is pretty average. Could be a 3 or maybe even 3.5 if the production wasn't so typically overpolished as in many other releases of the genre. Almost permanently edited, high-pitched voice to cover up the unspectacular guitars. You are just too nice, Davey.

I am indeed too nice. Haha. And you may be surprised to know that I don't necessarily disagree with some of your critique. I just don't see those things as necessarily band when the end-product is so catchy, hard-hitting and flows so tremendously.

I think some of the songs are quite solid and catchy, so I can see where you come from. But for me the album is being held down by the cliché sceneband-production. But well, matter of taste as always.

The only time I occasionally feel that the "cliche sceneband-production" goes over the top is your Cameron Mizell type of production. If you know Hands Like Houses, their debut LP suffered from it, while the follow-up was better.

Ok, bumped it up to a 3. It hast some interesting parts that you get to know after a couple of listens, but that's as nice as it gets. Many other things drag it down from being more imo.

verse/chorus derivative of glassjaw with chugging instead of actual riffs. a poor imitation.

and that's fake history, their best album. blackest beautiful was even lamer, with awful production to boot

Oh ok, never heard any of their stuff myself. Always though they were well-liked around here and the average ratings would suggest that is so.

davey it's another case of a staff member dropping a 4.5 on a mediocre post-hardcore record and the entire site losing their collective ability to think for themselves.

This is like a 3.7 for me right now...might bump it to a 4 after a few more listens. Doesn't really do anything new, but it does everything very well

Really strong album. Listening to it a lot lately, and probably even more soon since I just got the physical CD in the mail today.

ToonDude, NothingMore are on my list to check out. I was absent from here when their LP got hyped a bit here. Then they were announced on SoundWave Festival, so I was ready to check them out then, until they were named on the day I wasn't going to.

"Doesn't really do anything new, but it does everything very well"... Well said II.

"just got the physical CD"... What is this thing you speak of? ;-)

It's an antique is what it is :p

For some reason I just love collecting CDs. It came with a shirt too, so it's pretty cool. Plus there is nothing like throwing in a CD in your car and having the full effect. I have over 100 CDs and I've only been collecting them for a few months now.
