unsound is like the polished Bowie mix Raw Power, while Resound is the shit 1973 "Rough Power" Iggy mix

first half is really cool, third quarter is kinda boring and fourth quarter sounds like 80's video game music

i think the most unsettling thing about the quality of this is the fact that the first half is really layered and thick and has tons of content whereas the second half is just two different ideas put together chronologically. the sides don't really come together at all and i think that really made this suffer. honestly i think if judio had made his release at the end of the ep much more dramatic and intense and eliminated or changed the third quarter this thing would have been so much better. but it's not bad at all for a couple of kids.

also, just fyi: your guitar tone isn't the greatest (it has way too much contrast) and don't throw drumsticks hitting each other into the mix

the guitar tone was meant to break the wall of noise, and i like click clack drumsticks

contrast + even more contrast sounds super awkward and doesn't work for the rhythm. but i see where you're coming from

true true, but this was an experiment to learn from. didn't really know these tracks would be released tbh, but they were finished so why not

@idontcareabouthis Thanks for the the feedback, but "not bad for a couple of kids" is kinda patronizing tbh. Also, my side of the split was never really meant to be dramatic or intense, so I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. If you're not a fan of slow-moving ambient tracks like "Somniloquy" I can't imagine you'd enjoy any of my other music either.

i intended to be slightly patronizing. i highly doubt either of you are professional musicians by any means, but if so i apologize.i know i'm not either

and what i was saying is that the split sides don't compliment each other, which is something many split eps aim to do. instead bmdrummer's side is massive and your side just gives it the ole emergency brake. i like slow moving ambient tracks, but this definitely wasn't the place to have one. or if you wanted one that badly bmdrummer should have toned down on the massiveness of his side.

as the split sides stand on their own, they do a pretty good job. i'm sorry if i failed to accurately communicate my message
