1. I don't think you know what assertive means.

2. You don't have to say anything positive after pointing out a negative if there is nothing positive to say about the subject. I devoted an entire paragraph of the review to what I thought were positives about the album (you probably didn't read it).

3. You need to re-figure your math. 21 out of 33 people thought the review was well written. That means that my review has an average of 63%. This album has a score of 3.4/5 which is an average of 68%. Thus, the review average and the album average are pretty dang close.

"You constantly put down or minimize all the bands efforts..."

you sound like you're either a fan or a member of the band. your album rating doesn't reflect your defenses.

""An EP full of oddly generic instrumental and dance-floor metal tracks later...", "... the problem with the majority of this album is the blandness of the songwriting", "... sound like they were written by a tenth grader.""

these are all opinions, deal with it.

"You are not at all assertive. If you are going to say something negative, you usually counter it with the positive side of things. Something like: "She's fat but has a nice personality"."

you negated your argument there. asking for the reviewer to be assertive when your example is one that is neutral.

"What I can't stand is two things: 1.- Reviewers who think they are "edgy" because they write a bunch of bad stuff about someone. 2.- People who can't take an opinion."

I agree with #1. #2 is you.

That's cool Koff. I do agree that I added alot of history but I do feel that its important because it pertains to the evolution of this band from an interesting one to an uninteresting one.

Noted. When I get time i'll try and cut down some of the second paragraph to make it a bit crisper. I only want to get better at this, after all.

I honestly feel that Alpha/Omega were not as cool as Periphery II, thus the 3.0. I honestly think that Periphery II was an amazing album. And I know that this album deserved a better review than the one given, and I can thank Andrew Gold for writing a fair one.

It's not even like it's the worst review ever. In fact, I think it's completely fine. Just needs some fat trimming and then it'll be a lot better.

I really think that this album is one of those that will grow on you. Im sure that in a year or so you will be listening to Alpha/Omega and be like: "Wow, I can't believe I gave this a 2.5". Keep listening, you will like it!

Both Alpha and Omega flow better as a whole. I feel like reviewing this as an album-by-album basis doesn't
give the entirety of the work full credit. I look at this band as more of a contemporary love child of
hair metal and "djent". They have hooks, they are riffy, and its fun to listen to. I have no idea what
masterpiece some people are looking for when they listen to Periphery, but you're certainly not getting
the metal equivalent of a Sigur Rós album.

For those still searching for a deeper meaning in this band, please refer to Icarus Lives where
they simply state "Periphery, love that shit!" To which myself as well as others respond, "YESSSSSSSS,
GIMME MOOAAARRRR!"

There's valid points most can agree with in the review. Fortunately for me, I'm deep down the rabbit hole
of being a fan. I'll overlook the nitpicking and have fun with what these guys are writing and releasing.

While bashing some of the lyrics, you wrote them out wrong. Might want to fix that lol. Also, this review is way to damn long! It takes till the 3rd paragraph to even start talking about the album. Fix these two things, and this review will get a pos from me.

Yeah, the lyrics you bash are not the correct ones. I'm not really picky about lyrics, but they make actual

sense in their correct incarnations

Despite that, this is a good review, and doesn't deserve the negs it's getting. Take a pos from me to make

up for it. I'd never believe the day this site actually had periphery fanboys and not haters on it lol

@Relinquished he's definitely not a member of the band. Periphery wouldn't be butthurt about an internet review XD

@Paintthethane YES. I don't blame anyone here for doing that, because that's kinda how this site works...but in my review I just included them both. They're not really meant to be separated into different physical albums and I really feel like it hurts the album that they did that

guys, lay off of Alec, he's obviously me when I was 15
