This is definitely the benchmark for all that is bad in post-hardcore.

Almost disappointed me when I checked their Bandcamp and there's still nothing new from these guys.
Almost.

I always seem to be able to find the most woeful bands in the -core scenes. ChugChugWob was another one I found last year.
Well I say I'm the one who finds them. Snide finds 90% of them. The difference being he actually likes them.

This review doesn't read like a 0.5, it reads more like a 1.5 or a 2, you repeatedly talk about how the synths are decent, how the trance parts could be okay, how the metalcore is just generic chugging, and how the vocalist is just barely passable (passable being the key word you used)
Nothing in this review is scathing enough to be a 0.5 in the slightest. It's well written though.

That's because I always try to add some sort of balance to my reviews and never write a review if I don't think there aren't any constructive criticisms to be found. It really is a 0.5 album but rather than tell them to give up I thought I'd try to look at the stronger points in a generally awful album and look at ways that they could build on those points.

I could understand that in a 1/5 album, but a 0.5 is supposed to be where an album has basically no redeemable qualities isn't it?

Yeah but this is an album that should simply be avoided. It fails almost entirely across the board. The vocals make it unlistenable especially. The guitars are badly produced with an awful tone and no creativity in their riffs (or lack of). The electronics are all over the place. They have too many ideas and no talent to back it up. BUT, if they take a step back, focus in on what they want to do and take it step by step (starting with the basics and working their way up from scratch, improving tone, structure, vocals etc.) then, just then, they might be capable of something bearable. But right now there is no reason to listen to this at all unless you're morbidly curious and/or a masochist.

I mean I jammed this, and it's fucking terrible don't get me wrong, but it's not 0.5 material (like Chipmunk Punks, Hello Kitty Suicide Club, Whitehorse's Apple Seed, etc)

Just because it's not literally the worst thing ever doesn't not make it a 1 or a 0.5, if you applied the same logic to your 5's you wouldn't have any because no album is ~perfect~ but that's not all there is to being a 5. Sure this isn't straight up painful like Hello Kitty Suicide Club, but it's still a horrendously handled attempt at making music.

The point I was making was that this is a 1, not a 0.5 because there are still redeemable qualities to this music (albeit so small that the product is still awful), I basically reserve 0.5s for something that have no redeemable qualities.

Fair enough, I would 'personally' agree with you but I can easily see why someone would 0.5 this. It's like 95% shit, why wait around for that 100% to drop a 0.5 on?

There's several little trance-y synth passages in here that at least made me somewhat bop my head to it, so that's the main reason why this isn't a .5 for me. The rest though is absolutely terrible, and the production is horrifyingly bad.

yeah I get you, I used to have this at a 1.5 for that exact reason, but I would never 1 anything because I always (mostly) found something that wasn't as bad as the rest. Then I realised there wasn't actually anything good or redeemable in most of the things I was 1.5ing, just stuff that wasn't as horrendous as the rest and in a better album those woud be the parts dragging it down. Still an abysmal product with some less abysmal bits and pieces.
