So I was surprised as hell to find this vinyl since they are hard to come by and discogs shows them being quite expensive. I snagged a copy in St. Augustine, FL at Tonevendor for $52 or something, but likely would have paid significantly more because I goddamn adore this thing and have never seen it in the wild.
I noticed there was no tracklist on the back, and no pressing info on the sleeve so I was confused, but wasn't going to NOT get it lol. There is no insert or anything either. So I played side A, which begins with The Dope Show into Rock is Dead into New Model.
Discogs doesn't have an entry for this pressing at all. Anyone know anything about it?

Also if the album before and after this are 4's, there's no way this isn't AT LEAST the same.

Welp after doing some relatively light reading it turns out it's intentional as part of the album concept:
From wiki-
When released on vinyl, the record was split into two separately sleeved albums; the first credited to the character of Alpha (portrayed by Manson himself), pressed on opaque white vinyl, and the latter to Omēga and the Mechanical Animals on transparent blue vinyl. The Manson album dealt with songs of love and alienation, while the Mechanical Animals disc contained anthems of sex and drug use.[88] The vinyl edition was reissued in 2012, but on black vinyl instead of white and blue. The track listing, however, remains the same.
Marilyn Manson: Side one
1. "Great Big White World"
2. "Posthuman"
3. "The Speed of Pain"
4. "The Last Day on Earth"
Marilyn Manson: Side two
1. "Disassociative"
2. "Mechanical Animals"
3. "Coma White"
Omēga and the Mechanical Animals: Side one
1. "The Dope Show"
2. "Rock Is Dead"
3. "I Want to Disappear"
4. "Fundamentally Loathsome"
Omēga and the Mechanical Animals: Side two
1. "I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)"
2. "New Model No. 15"
3. "User Friendly"

“I’m as fake as a wedding cake” love this line, lol! At least the guy had self-reflection.
|
| |
I mean he ain't lying. I learned at bit late in life that most multi-tiered wedding cakes basically only have a small portion that is edible lol

This may be true, but my interpretation was rather about the fake promises of marriage. I also learned it a bit late in life.

Great Big White World has one of my all-time favorite guitar solos, sometimes I dream with this tune.

"This may be true, but my interpretation was rather about the fake promises of marriage. I also learned it a bit late in life."
Nah you're right, it's definitely a deeper line more along what you're saying. Hope all is well now brother.
And GBWW is one of my favourite rock songs for sure

That song single-handedly changed my perception of him as an artist when I first heard it. Even back then The Beautiful People and industrial metal in general did basically nothing for me, but I loved how he was the boogeyman in my community. GBWW in about 45 seconds confirmed to me that I would love this album.

The gospel vocals on Drugs are so unapologetically creative. Never heard anything like it before or since. Absolutely legendary.

i did revisit the early discog not too long ago and thought holy wood is the best after this one. and that the first 2 LPs are pretty poor

I honestly don't like Antichrist that much anymore. I probably overplayed it. But this and Holy Wood still hit. Golden Age is fun as well

I love all three of the trilogy, We Are Chaos is honestly nearly on par with those imo. Been awhile tho, we’re due for another Manson album.
