This. Album seems a bit rushed, like it was just a bunch of jam sessions. Which it was, as the songs come from their visits around the US for the HBO show.

After the two strong opening tracks, Sonic Highways never seems to pick up its pace again for me.

This album is really more a soundtrack to the TV show. Though apparently they are writing for the next 'proper' album. I'd wait till that's out before judging the band.
