"i think the people who like it now wont soon enough, i can see this getting really old really fast, has pretty much zero replayabily"

Oh sod off! That sounds like something a pitchfork reviewer would say.

Great review. As for the album, I don't know if I'll ever listen to it. Not a FF fan, I always thought, IMHO, they started with two great records back in the day (the first two were amazing gems of noisy yet melodic Husker Du/Nirvana-influenced noise pop) but quickly lost their magic from the third one onwards...

I get that people mostly don't like pitchfork around here, but do they really all write so similarly that you can generalize them?

Grohl said the next album is gonna be heavier, but I'm liking this regardless.

I feel like if you say that right when an album is released, you're expecting people not to like it.

Well a lot of the moaning about this album is the lack of heaviness, even though some of these songs are some of the Foos most experimental work.

Idk. This has a prog feel at times, but I don't think this band does prog all that well.

">START WITH A HORRIBLE GENERALISATION THAT ISN'T TRUE.

>LOOK UP SOME SONG DESCRIPTIONS. PUT THEM IN TO APPEAR LIKE YOU HAVE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THE ALBUM.

>READ SOME OTHER REVIEWS. IF RECEPTION IS POSITIVE, BE NEGATIVE VICE VERSA.

>REFERENCE AT LEAST 2 FRENCH POETS NOBODY HAS READ IN THE LAST 40 YEARS.

>USE AT LEAST 3 WORDS THAT AREN'T USED ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS.

>ROUND OFF WITH ANOTHER INCORRECT GENERALISATION."

It feels too safe to be a true transformation though. If they wanted to do an out there album, they should have gone way out
there. They don't have anything to lose from it.

Baby steps I guess. But the Foo sure know about that. Idk. I'm frustrated. I think Dave can do better than he allows himself sometimes.
