I actually haven't heard the new Marching Church, yet. Saving it for later. I'll probably hear it pretty soon, though.

I'm too excited. The single with the music video was really great.

Dull as fuck and dirty hipsters everywhere are what I get out of bed for.

these guys sound like the modern day Violent Femmes but a bit more punk

earlier stuff is much harsher.. but this is their best.. lead singer's solo project marching church is also worth listening to.. not as consistent, but more varied..

the whole folk/country backbeat with the bass lines gives me hardcore Violent Femmes vibes...Glassy Eyes is my favorite track so far. good rec thx

Give him a knife and fork and this singer would eat up his own voice.
I don't hate what he's doing vocally...but I don't much like it either, partly because it sounds like it'd be impossible for anyone else to love his performance as much as he himself does.
Over confident? You got it. Over flamboyant? For my tastes, sadly so.

Instrumentally this has a lot going for it, 'Against the Moon' actually suits the geezer's voice more.
Might have 3.5 potential.
I've listened to the band's first two albums before and I never remember the vocals being this attention-grabby, music was more the harsh element.

White Rune is amazing, can’t remember anything else this band has done.

Listening to that tune now - the vocals are much more buried, muffled almost. Better for it really.

Yeah, carrying on listening to the debut I prefer this style - more standard punk/post-punk fare.
I don't feel worried the singer is secretly rubbing one off under his trench coat to this stuff.

Try their new single Catch It. That's a bit more straighforward and melodic track.

Uni it really comes down to what the singer is up to, if he reigns it in I'll probably dig, what he's doing here is too OTT breathy orgasm groan-y for me

Good ol doof, failing to grasp rock since ‘79.

Listen to this Zak, vocals are sort of flouncy

I was put off by the album cover it brought a prominent flashback of when I was in the study holding a candlestick in one hand and me nob in the other
