I can understand why people don't like this so much (mostly the vocals) but hot damn, I dig it a lot.

I love this album and band but I will admit that I can find the vocals quite grating if I'm in the wrong mood

I am pretty surprised how polarizing the vocals are to people.

He reminds me of the guy from Motion City Soundtrack, and I always liked his voice, too.

'My Famed Disappearing Act' is such a jam. Might be the band's best song.

He definitely sounds like the dude from MCS, but yeah... I like Motion City Soundtrack a lot too, so that doesn't bother me at all.

It's not surprising how polarising the vocals are. Geddy Lee's voice is a deal breaker for a lot of people too.

I love MCS vocals these are just grating. Every time I hear these guys I'm super impressed the musicianship and put off by the vocals. It surprises me honestly, I'm a guy that has no trouble with Geddys and Claudios of the world.

It might be a specific tonal thing. For instance, I'm not hugely enamored of this guy's voice even though I love the musicianship. It took me a fair while to get into Rush because of Geddy's voice. But I also greatly enjoyed singers like Ashe O'Hara, Dan Tompkins, Elliot Coleman and Rody Walker from the get-go. Go figure.

Interesting. I had some issues with Coheed and Rush, vocally, but they came around eventually. I always like Rody from PtH, but I do prefer him when he is doing a more sing/scream combo (like on Fortress) than when he leans more on his cleans like with the other stuff I have heard.

I was into this right away, all the way, tho.

The idea of it being a specific tonal thing makes sense. There are very few singers I haven't been able to come around to. Even here I don't specifically dislike his voice as much as it seems to distract from all the interesting things going on, which is annoying af.

That's a criticism I can get behind for sure though, there's a lot happening musically on this album, and even though I have it at a 5, the vox are easily the weakest link.

Blood On The Radio is their best song imo but they have so many close 2nds.
