My favorite Queen probably. A Night at the Opera comes close, but I find I'm more drawn to this one. Ogre Battle alone rips hard.

This band's 70s work, as well as Innuendo, will always ensure they'll go down as one of the most legendary rock bands (regardless of how much Brian and Roger may try to milk the band's success and legacy these days)

Innuendo gets more and more overrated by the year

If anything, Innuendo's underrated

It isn't, it's an album propped up by three really good songs, a decent single and a bunch of material that is up to par with their usual 80s fare.

There's a reason why nobody talks about the album outside of the title track or The Show Must Go On, because a lot of the album is very mediocre.

Nobody legitimately thinks stuff like Ride the Wild Wind or I Can't Live With You is up their with their classic material

And the album has a 3.9 avg here and is bolded at 3.68 on RYM, higher than this and ADATR

How is Innuendo underrated again?

I think every song in Innuendo is great and stands on its own. Wether it is the technical or lyrical awesomeness of the opener and the closer or just as an extremly effective pop song in other tracks. Even Delilah which is the weakest track manages to be, at least, super catchy for me.

I find the album to be Queen's most mature release and the culmination of their sound. Mixing the more complex and heavier vibe of their early material with the excellent pop formula of their 80's era (but without the inconsistency of those albums).

I know it has a "high" avg in here and RYM (both of which I think should be higher tbh) but let's not forget that these are sites used by small communities of very hardcore music aficionados. When I said it was underrated I meant as in for the masses and music critics. If it was just Sputnik or RYM that we were talking about then we could say Gospel's one of the greatest bands ever when we all know that it is only in these sites that they're that big (I love them btw)

C'mon fripp don't get mad uwu

One of the very few bands under the "classic rock" tag that you simply cannot categorize. And that is certainly a feat of its own.

"When I said it was underrated I meant as in for the masses and music critics."

yet it's usually heralded to be one of their best albums by said critics and the masses, here in the U.S. at the least

I thought it received mixed reviews. Certainly some critics liked it but just as many critics said it was weak as far as I'm concerned

As for how popular it is among people... I don't know man, even its most popular songs (the t/t and The Show Must Go On) aren't known by your typical "OMG QUEEN IS THE BEST, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY IS THE BEST SONG EVER LOL, LET'S GO WATCH THE MOVIE!" kind of fan. At least from what I've seen

I totally understand why someone would see as a crime for Innuendo to be held as high as their '73-'76 era though

I think I really like this. Have Queen more progressive leaning albums like this and A Night At The Opera? Their other stuff (I also listened to ADATR) is pretty pleasant so far, but this appeals a little more to me
