I always revisit their older material... I'm not based on my standards, I'm based on what I've heard from them and on what I think they can deliver.

Ok, on that note, what is this 'lot more to give' that you're believing to put out?

It's just an overall feeling that I get when I revisit their discography, in each of their records there are lots of great stuff but I feel something's lacking. For example viva la vida is great, a solid 4 for me, but it has a couple of weak tracks such as Reign of Love and The Escapist. I think they have the potential to pull a record without weak tracks.

Well, hoping they release an album without weak tracks IS in fact based on your standards of what a good track consists of, but whatever. I'm not gonna argue with you. You don't think they're hitting their potential, that's fine. Hope the new one will meet your expectations.

I hope it doesn't reach only my expectations but also those of everyone that follows what they put out.

I didn't love Viva La Vida. This is the only album by them I truly love. Lots of awesome lyrics and musical ideas on here. If they combined darker stuff like in Clocks with lyrics like in the title track in album form, that'd be amazing.

I want make them to make sad boi tunes like The Scientist again.

I highly doubt Head Full of Dreams will be their last by the way, that whole claim was based off some highly misconstrued comments Chris Martin made about a year ago. Even if they do go on hiatus, it will likely be for a year or two at most, they still have massive chart potential.

i do think they fulfilled their potential on this and viva la vida. both aren't perfect (they are fantastic though), but they do showcase coldplay's best qualities. i don't think can make much better than this

Yeah, this and Viva la Vida are both amazing achievements. Had to bump this back to a 4.5 because there are just so many feel-y moments.

I don't understand the obsession with Viva La Vida. Everything after their first three albums is trash
