ye I did I have a soft spot for dem bluesy guitars in this

I do feel like it could've used some fat trimming though like I said before espec in the mid area, had to make some effort to listen all the way through in one sitting but those closing tracks were awesome

but then maybe I just need to listen more to not mind the length iunno

truth be told tho this is the first of their releases that i listened to several times in a row upon first listen

usually trophy scars is just something that marinates over a few months of random spins

yeah this was pretty immediate. I couldn't comment on the others needing 'marination' since i never came back to any of them, but i could see that being the case especially now that i have some level of appreciation for them because of this album.

but maybe my tastes have just changed too, who knows, will probably try another of their old albums out again and see whats up.

did you dislike Darkness/Never Born at the time as well? If you're all about this then I'm pretty sure you'll like their last two EPs. This is juuuuuust slightly below those two for me.

Maybe it's cuz I haven't listened in a really long ass time but I don't remember either of those sounding all that much like this at all, I remember them being a lot slower and Tom Waits-y

@Aids well, its not that i've 'disliked' any of their stuff outright, more that i didn't find anything i listened to to exceed 'decent' so i never went back and never got the hype. but yeah i listened to those 2 and same thing. I'm thinking I'll try never born again soon.

this one has got more of the blues guitar action and definitely speeds up sometimes, but Darkness/Never Born were like prequels to this, lyrically and sonically. Definitely in the same arena of discussion.

There are no riffs on this that beat Trazadone though.

Funny that this actually didn't impress me much on the first listen. Only heard four or so tunes off it though
