notice how rare staff reviews are for albums like this? it's because the staff's taste is nowhere

close to mainstream rock/metal (one or two exceptions of course). it's an exercise in futility to

listen to something you know you'll hate just for the sake of hopping on the anti-hype train. yet

this website does it every time.

Well yea it's not always the case but that happens way too frequently here. Take this album for

example. I see people constantly saying that this can't be that good just because it's Chevelle. Yet,

they won't know until they try.

Yes i agree that's daft.

But sometimes you come into something being quite neutral about the band or the type of music and either get pleasantly surprised or just wonder what the hype is all about.

Jom doesn't like Chevelle very much he didn't think they changed much from WWN to Vena Sera (I disagreed), but he would give them a fair shake on his reviews back in the day.

I agree with you when it's meant in an insulting way but there is a lot of stuff I have come back to that I hated at first and ended up liking so sometimes there might be some truth in it.
