Kurenai has one of my favorite guitar parts from X Japan, along with Silent Jealousy.

@Saros yes please check out their full discog! This is mostly a ballads album, but the title track, SCARS, Drain, and Rusty Nail help mix things up again. Dahlia is one of their best songs

Seems most just listen to Art of Life and then stop there, which is a shame because they have so much more worth listening to [2]
You haven't lived life until you rocked out to Desperate Angel.

If you wanna be lazy about it, then check their Last Live, which is 3 discs long, covers most of their hits and ballads, spans their entire history, and....
Yeah, just spin their albums.

Watching The Last Live is like the main event really, plus it's an important live historically that any fan of Japanese rock/metal music should watch.

last live performance of Forever Love is heartbreaking especially with the context of Toshl being brainwashed by a cult...

And the fact Yoshiki wanted to beat the shit out of him on stage that night, but he couldn't do it.

oh yea ive read about that, rewatching the part where he walks up to Toshl is very tense knowing that. Wish the band had just called it quits for good here, the reunion should never have happened (not sure if this is a hot take but its been nothing but one disappointment after another)

Mildly hot, but that's only because THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED A NEW ALBUM SINCE THIS. It would/could be different if we had more than one single that's how many years old to go off of...

The initial world tour was great, but the consistent blue balls and the relative decrease in song quality are disappointing. Take it as a chance to see them live other than expecting quality new songs btw I gave up on that long ago.

Do you think they will remove the Marilyn Mansons feature they planned for the new album? hahah

Probably not, they'd delay the album for another year otherwise.

Delay is inevitable anyway with these guys tho
Yoshki says he is waiting for the perfect time to release the album, but what time is perfect according to him
When they can tour again? Hope his back and wrists can handle more touring (just remember his wrists or arms were fucked if im not wrong. been ages since ive watched the x japan documentary)

It was supposed to be released on X Day, but it got delayed due to Pata's ill health. Then it was used to debut their documentary for the first time. So, lord knows when it will drop. I think they can tour whenever COVID allows them.
