Out of curiosity, everyone who does call this black metal, what elements of the music make you associate to that genre? No criticism, I'm genuinely curious / interested because i don't really hear it beyond the tremolo guitar parts.

I knocked the cover at the end because it doesn't fit with the content.

every single day I get out of bed, set fire to my curtains, slaughter an infant goat, flip off my apartment mates, and scream along to Pecan Tree.

I dont even give two fucks.

yeah the only element in this that is even remotely black metal is the drumming, everything else is post-hardcore/screamo with a sentimental mood

it's basically envy with faster drums but not as good in any way

most of the guitar parts resemble black metal. people act like this is the first bm album to ever use major keys instead of minor

yeah but the tremolo picking isn't really black metal (envy does that) and the vocals aren't either (envy also does that, as do countless other screamo bands)

idk, the envy comparisons are totally legit and accurate (specially the endings of the t/t and pecan tree, p much envy

parts). in note choice maybe the guitars resemble that kind of stuff but to me the execution is way more rooted in bm

the riffs and melodies themselves aside from being played in a more hectic way pretty much sound like pop punk

it really is only the drumming that gives this any resemblance to black metal
