Purrp is a terrible rapper. He just has good production and atmosphere which isn't enough to make up for his lack of lyrical value.

yeah he speaks pretty candidly about that, he's not trying to compete with the more lyrical or even more flow-oriented rappers. i think of his music as an expression of his worldview more than anything. he is an unremarkable rapper but it's supposed to evoke a visceral reaction, not an intellectual one.
