"She has insaaane vocal control"
get that shit outta here lol.
I like how there's a trifecta of DIY guitarists out now who are all friends with each other lol. Sithu Aye is my favorite now but it's a good thing to see.

There's more than a trifecta. Gru, Jakub Zytecki, Micic, Widek, Plini and Sithu Aye have all been collaborating with each other off and on for a while.

"get that shit outta here lol."
I think the vocals are brilliant. The rawness and unevenness of Djelmas' delivery just makes it more evocative and throws the melodicness of the chorus into sharp relief.

some people call it raw I call it amateurish (for lack of a better word), her cleans are good but typical sounding. There are flashes of greatness from her performance but its more of Micic being a damn fine producer than anything she did. she absolutely brought down that song more than helped it.
but anyway isn't zytecki in a band and isn't Gru a band? not DIY guitarists? I get they collab all the time but I was talking about DIY guitarists.

I think the rawness is intentional and from the sound of it she may have recorded all her parts in a single take.
Micic is in a band too; Destiny Potato. I don't know about Gru, but he contributes solos to basically everything. Except for Sithu Aye who is apparently primarily a physicist and a hobbyist musician and Plini whose solo stuff is his main thing, everyone's got multiple projects going on.

if you really listen you can tell every bit of rawness and variation in her voice is quite intentional. Whether the result sounds good or not is opinion-based so we'll have to agree to disagree there. But she definitely has good control of her voice.

^Fixed, thanks. If that's the worst I do, I'm still batting better than most writers for CNN.

I see people talking about a Devin influence in this but how come no one is pointing out that the first riff in Smile is straight STOLEN from The Way Home!...

Lol. It's not ripped off. It's just in the same key. But it sounds fairly similar though.

Yeah it's so damn similar, ahah. But hey, it's not wasting my enjoyment of this release.

This album is a wonderful bomb. I was at Euroblast but woke up too late to see this guy playing with Destiny Potato - their single (dark side of you? something like that) is also pretty "meh".. But this, f**k this is crazy, it's how prog-influenced music should sound in 2013.

I may have to change my SOTY from "Cockroach King" to "Daydreamers" song is still just amazing. Though it may not have made any year-end lists (here, at least), this is still one of 2013's best releases.

Think this was my favorite album released last year. This guy deserves way more attention.

Just started listening to this guy yesterday. Bought the first two albums for like $10 off iTunes and so far, money not wasted. Defintely feels like a djenty Devin Townsend. Will get Bilo 3.0 later after I've listened to the first two. Pretty sweet new music.

There are some hints to Bilo 2.0, but this one is mostly its own beast. Highly recommended, obviously.

The guest vocalists on this album are reason enough to listen to it. I can't stop listening to Smile.
