I had a chance to see them w/ KSE but unfortunately the tickets were sold out within the first two weeks.

Even with this album's issues the material still sounds incredible live.

Should be expected. One reason why this album fails is because of the horrible in-studio decisions that went into its making--not specifically the quality of the music itself. The riffs are (or would be) decent, but they're completely ruined by horrible production/mixing. This probably could've been as decent as In Waves had it been given a decent producer that actually knew what he/she/they was doing.

Yeah, I'll admit the production is awful in this. David Draiman should just stick to Disturbed and Device.

In Waves was awesome, this just isn't

Unfortunately we'll probably never get another In Waves because Heafy fucked up his voice

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Another reason not to hype up for the next album.

Wow, Villainy Thrives just came on randomly, even worse than I remembered it. This is abysmal.

Good review. It's safe to say that no two Trivium albums sound exactly alike, and that's what I like about the band. They stay fresh and don't get too stale. Every album, even The Crusade, is a good listen and has positives that make me look forward to listening to their respective album.

That one Gomen song or w/e was cool. Not cool enough to warren listening to that album, but cool.

Incineration gets a 5/5 from me. The rest of the album is pretty good overall. Disturbed influence on the vocals reeks at times though.

By comparison this album makes In Waves seem like viable alt thrash metal, and that album's barely a 3/5.

Looks like Trivium is going black metal, at least that's what the teasers are suggesting.
