titlefight: I've been thinking about it, and I agree with you, even though I'm slowly getting used to it.
Maybe they're taking advantage of Tillian's pliable and simple voice and wanted to experiment with stuff they never
were able to do with Jonny or Kurt.

All they did with the production of Tilians voice is Reverb and compression. The only other thing they did was let him do some of his own harmonies. I don't see what everybody is so up in arms with. They didn't use autotune or anything lol.

there was one obvious use of it in demo team. it sounded pretty good though.

yeah Jon Mess said they were using it on a track to make fun of the groups that rely on it. so its not like that was a production factor on the album if you get what I mean. They've always been a band that has a very strong stance against auto tune.

Maybe it's just reverb and compression, I don't have enough technical knowledge to argue either way on that. All I know is that I've heard Tilian sing on Tides of Man, and it didn't sound like this shit.

@TMobotron yeah I hear ya. He has improved the upper side of his range quite a bit and I think most of it is that he isn't singing with the same tone quality that he did with Tides. A lot of singers change their tone a little bit depending on what kind of band is backing them so I guess that's probably what it is.

Solid release, Honey Revenge, Strawberry Swisher Pt. III and Carve are my favorites, just wish it was done by Crummett again. Also I can't wait for ALLB, Secret Band and Sianvar (Will Swan sideproject).

This is really a grower. Enjoying this very much

We're saying the instrumentation is worse than ever here? Are we basing this on technical proficiency? If so then shit, I mean I'd have to agree, but these songs are more logically structured than anything these guys have done in awhile

It could be a five for some people. especially if it is a grower. but three days after the stream. there is no way you anyone should be 5ing it yet.

I agree Omaha, but I think its that they're more selective and prudent on how they showcase their talents as band cause the songs definitely benefit, cause each member definitely gets his time to shine. Its refreshing to hear that they're focusing on their collective sound instead of trying to just be as crazy as possible.
