i mean i'm fine with some "commercial" albums/songs (carly rae jepsen's kiss comes to mind as well as basically everything kanye's done) but this is not good

What I was about wasn't that this particular album is really good or anything (haven't heard anything besides the singles), but more like how sputnik basically bashes every non-indie pop record to ground. The review itself was pretty good I guess. There's just so many 1s that I can't help but think that many of those are based on bias.

Haha I'm sure it's true. I must admit I've given one or two 1.5s without hearing the whole album (Kid Rock, brokeNCYDE) but it's kinda funny to see people just jumping on the hate train

Wow, there is way too much ignorant hostility toward EDM on this site. This review was okay, but it still feels like forced ranting. It should be evident that some progress has been made since 2011, which I think was the darkest year for mainstream dance music. There are at least a few artists (like Avicii, in my opinion) who make sure that it doesn't all sound generic and terrible, and the misguided hatred I see on many of these comments is exactly why there needs to be more media coverage on EDM and its rich history.
