yeah i know. and i understand that. i'm saying it's weird that you're distancing yourself from said "elitists" and other guys on here are saying such people dont even exist.
the belief that those people exist is reason enough for other people to assume you are one, weird as it is

im sorry joe but this review seems really forced and almost like you have a vendetta against the band. 90% of the album is blast beats? that is just plain wrong and honestly (to me at least) makes it seem like you probably were half assing while listening to this. i would never want to accuse someone of not listening but i really think you should listen to it again and rewrite this. its just hard for me to believe that you really gave this a chance when one of your biggest criticisms is so blatently incorrect. i dont want to start some "OH YOU OPINION IS WRONG BECAUSE I DISAGREE ARGUMENTS" but i feel very strongly about this because as my rating will indicate i really love this record.

oh don't fucking accuse me of that bullshit
you may forget that i actually gave this a 3.5 at first and i've listened to it several times since then, over and over
as for everything else in your message i've already covered it, i have no vendetta against the band, i actually said this album had a LOT of potential because it does, first track is really good

also the 90% blastbeats thing was me trying to say that it was trying to be intense too often and it got tiring
it's not fucking literal

i'm just calling it how i see it. i'm trying to be respectful because i like you and generally we agree on most albums and also i don't want to come off as an ashole like everyone else who disagrees. maybe its just the way i feel about the album that's making me feel this way about the review. like i said i don't want to start some dumb argument because i think you're a cool guy, that's just the way i feel. sorry if i offended you.

I like Roads to Judah and I like this. To my ears there doesn't seem to be as much atmosphere, but it's a good album all the same. I prefer the US Black Metal community toying with the formula. I am a BIG fan of black metal and as a genre, there is so much potential to screw with it. Some bands pull off some pretty incredible things while thinking outside the box of Black Metal, while some fall short. But those bands who succeed with it, they get my props for sure. As you can tell, I am no Black Metal purist, so I love to see what some artists can do with this sound.

Although i agree with some points of the review scoring seems a bit harsh. Go watch them live i fell in love after that. Also it mentioned that it wasn't the best BM release of the year if so what is???

I couldn't care less about "tr00 black metal" or any other sort of that shit, I want to listen to music I can honestly enjoy disregarding stupid genre boundaries.
While I can definitley enjoy this record to some extend, this review mentions a crucial point which keeps me from loving it: The lack of dynamics. Sure, there are some slower, quieter and more mellow parts, but they make up such a small amount in comparsion to the huge majority of "in-your-face-as-loud-as-it-gets" parts, which gets somewhat tiresome over the course of 1 hour. I wonder why this obvious criticism is even questioned here by some people....
Also, I can't help but notice some very conventional chord progressions and riffs (dream house) that have been overdone in the past by countless pop-punk bands. Some people obviously do not care about that, but aside from the intesity, it is also the harmonic changes that accounts a great deal to my personal enjoyment of such music.
