"If you're gonna binge, just note that nearly every album they do is very different from each other."
That's cool actually, my favorite bands often change drastically from album to album (just see my "holy trio" in my profile). And they had a stable line-up if I'm correct, right?

Definitely check The Gathering.
"Ao no Sekai" is the best track here and one of their best in general.

I'll get on that too

Sweet, such a big discography with a stable line-up. That's intriguing

Yep, 30 years (more if you include their 4 years making live shows together in their earliest days) and still going with the same people is incredible. They've never had any drama either minus before Aku no Hana where Imai was arrested for doing LSD, which all the drama was only caused by the press since the band were super quiet about it and came back with a new album a year later like nothing happened.

Good to know. I wasn't sure on what to do so I just decided to jam the debut on a whim.
Btw no second full listen yet but I can't get enough of Kirameki. Fantastic bass line, catchy vocals and entertaining guitars

What did you think of the debut? I haven't actually ventured much into their 80s stuff

It's cute and I enjoy it, but unless you're already a Buck Tick fan I wouldn't listen to it. Why you need someone to walk you through their discography, going chronologically is a terrible idea.

Yeah I've listened to Aku No Hana and Taboo and while they weren't bad albums, they weren't great either, and definitely lack the punch and catchiness they had during the 90s til present. They kinda discouraged me from trying their first three records

Yeah they transformed with Kurutta to say the least, even to the extent of transforming older songs in to Kurutta standards of quality in Climax Together. I'd still say go for Seventh Heaven because people really enjoy that album and it's well respected in their discography. It's such an oddball since it has such a light and innocent tone yet the smallest touches of their maturity are appearing.

The debut is pretty cool too, it's a The Police meets Joy Division kind of thing. Very pleasant and catchy, and the bassist was already going ham with the walking bass (in a little section of "One Night Ballet"). That guy rules. It's a 3.0 to say the least, maybe more. Good stuff, looks like this band will entertain me for a long while if that's supposed to be the "bad" stuff

@Sab: U-ta (the bassist) always rules, all the time. Especially live where he just looks like the most content man in the universe always smiling and groovin'. I can say this band does not have one bad album, 2.5/3 at worst and at best is my favorite live show of all time. Regarding Hurry Up Mode I still say Plastic Syndrome, Moon Light and Stay Gold are bangers.
@Animals: Agreed, it's in my top 10 of all time and top 5 BT songs.
