i remember when this was the first math rock/instrumental record i ever listened to.

nowadays i still really respect the album for not just copying don cab and adding their own elements. the influence is there but its not overbearing. plus the structured chaos as it approaches melody 8 was something that i hadn't heard before when i first listened to it.

kinda think it really helped appreciate music the way i do now in terms of songwriting and technical music in general.

watching nick reinhart going through his irrational amount of pedals was pretty interesting though.
