Would love to see them, but it depends on how close they come to me and the price.

Coming to the ACC on September 1. Depending on prices, I am really considering it.

I'm seeing them in the O2 in London, and Manchester Arena (I'm from Liverpool).

bloc, they really give value for money man, you won't regret it. Seen them four times now. The best was the Angel tour, great setlist. If they polish BOAG up a bit, it'll be a great addition.

Dave also let slip in a recent interview that Martin's been rehearsing Higher Love for the tour.

Yeah, I have no doubt they kick ass live. And if that Higher Love hint is true, oh man...

Oh God, I love this! Just beautiful.

I know that it's silly, but.... I really hope that it's not their last record, with "Goodbye" closing their career.

OMG!

Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the legendary Rose Bowl show at Pasadena. As it turns out, 101 is not only my favorite Depeche album but also one of my favorite albums of all time.

If you guys are fans of the band when they were in their twenties, right after Music for the Masses, watch this:

http://archives.depechemode.com/specials/june_18_1988.html

Some very very VERY rare footage which I have not ever seen. Dave driving a car. Alan announcing the show. Interview with Martin and Fletch. You can even see OMD play "Enola Gay" (!!!) during that EPIC day.

Depeche Mode just might be my favorite band if you do the math...I think they have more albums I can listen to front to back than any other band I know....that being said, this album is NOT a 4.5...If it is, then I guess there must be a rating higher than 5 for albums such as Music For the Masses, Violator, even Songs of Faith and Devotion because they blow this away. The mix of good songs and filler might put this with Black Celebration in their canon..

Nah, this one really is that good; I think nostalgia can cloud judgement. MFTM and SOFAD had their share of filler (Sacred, To Have And To Hold, Get Right With Me, Rush). When a band has reached a noticeable peak (like DM did in the early 90s) there's a tendency to compare everything to it, and ignore high quality albums just because they come late in their career. There's no ETS or PJ here, but had this been released in 1990, the fans would have been wetting their collective pants in excitement.

So I went to the MTL show last week. All in all, a solid and charming performance. Of course it's not 101 anymore (since that's my favorite DM album), but Dave is still enthusiastic and in top shape, ready to lift crowds. They still have it in them!

Some personal highlights: Black Celebration, A Question of Time, Enjoy the Silence. Martin sang But Not Tonight, which is great but I would have prefered a non-acoustic version. I was a little disappointed by NLMDA, but it was fantastic regardless. It doesn't sound live as edgy as before (i.e. 101), but hell, it's freakin' Never Let Me Down Again.

this album is special to me for bein the one who's tour i caught 'em for the first (and 3) times on, among other things...

but other than that, it's just kind of a housing for some pretty good to great songs

i'm one who really enjoyed SOTU, thought that held together great as a reckird but yeah i mean Playing the Angel is still their "last classic" as far as I'm concerned

classic singles/album tracks on this one for sure though

and holy shit, bonus track/b-side/outtake/whatever the fuck we're callin 'em these days "Happens All the Time" is one of the best from this era period
