and justice for jason is kinda a fraud cos its not actually his bass tracks which you might think doesnt matter but the dude who did it simplified the shit out of the actual bass lines which you can hear on rock band or whatever

Id have to give the songwriting edge to Lightning
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
its close. lightning is my favorite metallica album. would be a 5 without escape
|
| |
Only prob with "Escape" is that it's not quite as badass as the other stuff on RtL.

Dyer's Eve rips faces

Shortest Straw is the weakest track for me (but not bad or horrible at all).
Frayed Ends of Sanity, most underrated song ever.. but it suffers from the same repetition-ness that plagues the amazing title track as well.
And Justice for Jason rules btw.

My big problem with And Justice For Jason is that the bass has now switched from being too quiet to way too loud. During One, the bass ends up drowning everything out and distorts the production. Just doesn't sound balanced enough for me imo

That's a reasonable criticism. Personally I remember thinking the loud bass kicked ass on AJFJ.
