few spots of this seemed like too much of a re-hash of past material
but overall really solid and enjoyable

I did read your review Michael, no need to get your panties in a bunch.
there's a fine line between building upon where you have left off, and simply re-treading old ground. there were maybe 3 spots where I felt that parts had been flat out recycled. but, still need to listen more.
like I said, it is still quite enjoyable.

I caught that in your review, and I have seen a lot of other users saying the same thing. I know, at this point it's kind of an old criticism. I think for the most part, the album is still pretty fresh material, it's just different to hear Neurosis revisiting so many different styles. like I said for the most part, it manages to stay pretty fresh, but there are a few spots where I felt like it was a little too re-hashed.
on that note, gonna listen more before I make any more observations.

I just got into neurosis last year thanks to Sputnik and now they're in my top 3 bands
This album is solid as fuck, the second to last song is incredible
I think they still have better albums though, through silver in blood, sun that never sets and...wait this may be my number 3
Holy shit this albums awesome

Yeah I was pretty disappointed the first time I heard this, but after a few listens my roommate and I listened to this and watched the sunrise on a foggy day and it just clicked. Now I can't stop listening to it. As of now I like it more than eye of every storm but it's neurosis so my list of albums by them is never stable

Much better than GttR. That album was so "meh."

I like the song that's 12 minutes long, starts off slow, takes about 5 minutes to get going, slows down again, and has lots of quiet-loud-quiet-loud crescendos in it. Yeah, that one's my favorite.

"honestly, i haven't heard pain of mind through enemy of the sun but this is BY FAR my least favourite of their albums from through silver onward"
man you really gotta check out enemy of the sun and souls at zero, great albums!
