i mean i get frustrated at the similarity between most of the songs but it's such a gut puncher that i don't mind much

Why do people insist on calling genres stale when a notable band disbands? GSYBE disbands (then reforms)? Post-rock is dead! ISIS disbands? Post-metal is dead!
It's not like that at all. There are always dozens of bands pushing the envelope, driving the sound further into uncharted territory. It seems that once someone gets bored of a genre, they start calling it stale. And, once that concept reaches the hivemind, it's all over. That's all you hear when you read post-rock and post-metal reviews. Post rock and post metal aren't stale. They are both very much alive.

saw them live a couple of months ago, they played this albumin its entirety + these wet feathers. great show, though there was only like 50 people, but that kinda made it even better. very intimate atmosphere

Can't say this record really has any uplifting moments, it's mostly dark with no signs of hope. Track 4 and 6 are my fav.

I'm really loving it so far, but my first impressions aren't always to be trusted so we'll see.

so how about that new album. Vox are sorta of weirdly more raw than the music, but they're still really cool howls.

Why is nobody talking about this omg.
