I don't get most of the complaints around here. It's like you guys decided this band had some enormous GOAT potential and just because this album didn't reach your ridiculous expectations, it's an average album. Maybe LeBron James didn't become the best basketball player he could possibly be, but he still became the best in the NBA and that needs to be recognized.

A 2.5 is absurd, the album is not average.

A 5 is absurd.

They regressed though. It's not like they even stayed the same from B&C, which would have produced a great album. They've gotten worse.

I would love to hear more songs like Time and Pressure and less whining... It's still really enjoyable album but clean vocals can by unbearable for some people.

Always get the feeling most online reviewers go into a review determined to give high ratings no

matter what. This site always feels much more honest.

Anyway, 3.6 average is in no way a negative rating. But I can't see in any way how this is an

improvement on their first two albums. Would love someone to explain

Clearly you've never heard A Fragile Hope?

I think it is an improvement so far as they have pretty much picked up where they left off with B&C but display a bit more control and restraint with this one, making the whole experience even more dramatic, as well as making it altogether more accessible (for better or worse). There is also marked improvements in song writing and more diverse instrumentation.

I may retract my opinion that this is their best, I think you could pose a good argument for any three to be the best, as they are all incredible. A Fragile Hope is probably still my favourite (and one of my fav albums of all time tbh), and i do miss those screams.

This is just my opinion, these guys can do no wrong in my eyes.

Love this album. DSHS is maturing very well. I also miss their heavier stuff but sometimes it's better to do something new and move forward. I truly believe that they will be one of the best bands of all time.

actually they were ok until sputnik found out about them

and the most ridiculous comment of the year goes to...

___

And to the 5ers out there questioning our lower ratings, I feel like we are justified(not so much

you guys though). Personally I have never been in love with many of the extended clean songs on

Blessed and Cursed. The rest of that album had such amazing songs I overlooked those flaws.

This album feels more weighed in the direction of those extended cleans but with even less memorable

instrumentation and vocal melodies than B&C. Believe me I really wanted to like this record but the

bottom line is it bores me. I have given EoL three listens now, and I just don't want to give it

another.

Reading this was soul crushing. Will have to give this a chance because everything they have released thus far has been from the top drawer.

This is a little disappointing, but it's certainly not bad. The cleans are way too average to be at the forefront of the band, especially when the musicianship (or maybe its just the song writing in general) seems to have regressed. It's still better than the majority of Post-Hardcore out there, but I won't be listening to this over the rest of their discography.

I feel like I'm the only one who is really loving this. Obv B&C was better but I've listened to this like twice a day since it came out. Even though I like the last one more, I'm not disappointed at all and I'm glad to have some solid new material from these guys.

If I may ask, what about the production sucks? The arranging, mixing and mastering sounds good to me... But it could just be me. :P
