This is the best album I've heard this year by a long shot.

It's one of my favourites too. It's so good! I need to get it on CD. I should have bought it the other day. Darn. =P

Grizzly Bear are such a good band! =D

These comments surprise me. I never knew so many people found Veckatimest boring or bad. I loved it upon first listen and have loved since. It may just be me, but that album is a "real classic". As for Shields, I gave it a high rating, but it is decent at best. I am not digging the streamlined focus of this effort. The best parts of this album sound like Veck (and sounded better on that album). I do really like "A Simple Answer", though. It went in a very unexpected direction and I find it a lot fun.

They're both awesome. =)

I think this is extremely overrated. Same with the new Animal Collective and How to Dress Well. It's
probably just me though... not on any of these hype trains at all.

Is it overrated or is it something you don't like that allot of other people do? Can music be
overrated?

LOL not going to get into one of those endless circular arguments because music is subjective, but
yeah... "in my opinion" people are blowing this up a bit too much.

This is coming from the guy who 5'd Yellow House.
So I'm not a Grizzly Bear hater by any means... just don't enjoy this too much.

That's it though! It's only overrated in the mind of the listener who doesn't like it as much but to
everyone else it isn't overrated so therefore; it's neither because it's subjective.

this > Veck



I mean, ya, Veck has amazing songs like While You Wait, All We Ask, and Foreground... but this is so much more consistent. Veck is also over-produced imo -there's just sooo many overdubs, it sounds too perfect at times for my taste. This has much more raw, live sounding production, which I love.
