You shouldn't base your album rating on wether they're arrogant or not. A band can be arrogant and still make good music. It has already been said many times that they are arrogant so could we stop making comments about that. It doesn't have anythng to do with their music.
Calm down. Hep wouldn't rate an album just because a band is arrogant, and the assumption that he would is asinine. And he can call them arrogant all he wants, as it's his opinion, and thus is relevant to the conversation. This Message Edited On 06.29.06

What the fuck? Jesus crack-smoking Christ, man. How many lead paint chips did you have to ingest before that statement actually sounded reasonable? This Message Edited On 06.29.06

And once again the word sellout used in the completely wrong way. Plus i've said this before but... WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT SELLING OUT! IF YOU LIKE THE MUSIC IT MAKES NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE! Now i hope everyone reads this and i never have to see the word sellout again.

Oh. Good. Couldn't tell because it comes in an extra cover, and usually they don't put P.A. warnings on those.
Do they?

I don't like this band overly much, nor do I enjoy this review.

Sometimes they just put a sticker on the plastic that covers the album. But no, Waking The Fallen is not parental advisory.

Alright. Thanks.

No. Solos are amazing. No solos = I usually don't care about the song. Seriously.

I'd have to agree.

That's pretty dumb to not care about a song if it's got no solo, good luck with any Nu-
Metal band. This Message Edited On 07.15.06

Dude, south of heaven is a meatstick we all know that. Hey soh, let's assume that a song doesn't have a solo but does have incredibly impressive guitarwork, maybe even more impressive than what you'd find in certain solos. For example a lot of the stuff the band Tera Melos is more intricate and interesting than the shred of Kerry King, but they technically don't have any solos.

First off I'll point out that I over exaggerated my claim. Yes it does bother me when a song doesn't have a solo, but I usually hold that requirement to my genre. For instance, if there is a Thrash Metal band that I just started listening to, it'll usually tell me the technacality of the guitarists, seeing as how Thrash usually doesn't have the most "sweeping" riffs ever. It's a thing that I've carried over from that genre and that I now hope to see in everything I listen to.
good luck with any Nu-Metal band.
Not that big of a Nu-Metal fan anyway.

Wow, awesome. Oh wait, isn't it called an opinion?

That's cool for them. Too bad that even though I admire Slayer and even Kerry King, I know that Kerry King is in no way the greatest guitarist ever. I've stated that many times. And if the song isn't chaotic, I usually find his and Jeff's solos lacking because, as I've said before, they ain't that amazing.

I just think it's really sad if because a song doesn't have a solo it bothers you, that seriuosly limits you in band choice. If I was like that I'd listen to so much different music. Bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Killswitch Engage, Old Avenged Sevenfold, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Burn The Priest, Lamb Of God, Burzum, Gwar, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool are all so awesome and the usually don't solo.

I used to have a preference for bands that solo. Then came el Beatles. Now it doesn't really matter to me, but I still thoroughly enjoy a well-constructed lead and such. This Message Edited On 07.15.06

Well to begin with, I'm already not a big DEP or Mudvayne fan. Lamb of God is alright, but only in small doses. I really hated Burn the Priest though. GWAR is just...GWAR. They're a fun listen. I don't know who Burzum is. Tool I've never really listened to much.
Now as For KSE, those guys are cool. I got past the whole solo-less thing because I felt like expanding my tastes in the Metalcore genre, which I'm not very into at all. And I love RHCP with all my heart.
So that's why I tried to say that I over exaggerated my claim of "No solo = I don't care". It should've been more like "No solos on a metal album = I don't care". It's just what I like/don't like.

For me, solos are like salt. I like them, but I dont give a sh*t if a song is sololess. Look at my profile and it's pretty obvious

Solos can be good or bad, depending. Lots of great bands don't solo, but a solo is good when it adds to the feel of the song. When its crappily tacked on and almost forced, just for the sake of having a solo, is when it doesnt sound good.
on another note, am I the only one who's noticed that the main guitar riff in Second Heartbeat is almost exactly the same as a riff from the song Innocent Exile by Iron Maiden?
