I like The Contortionist better. Love the ambient stuff.

On the first listen I don't like this as much as Exoplanet. The heavier parts seem a lot less interesting here tbh, and the cleans are a bit much sometimes. The music is gorgeous, though.

There's definitely a lot of room for improvement here, but they're moving in a good direction. They just need to hone their craft.

Some really great parts on here... but some of it is just boring. Not keen on some of the vocals either.

They seem to respect BTBAM too highly - their transitions are really awkward on a few songs here, as well as their heavier parts being a lot more boring now.

They already said they weren't going to have as many heavier parts and were going to work towards a more progressive/ambient sound. And I find the heavier parts more memorable than Exoplanets heavy parts. On Exoplanet lots of the heavy parts sounded the same.

I would honestly be surprised if they ever make another song as good as "Flourish"

^ Best "a la The Contortionist progressive song" ever made.

ILJAJLM, you are completely right - the album suffers for its lack of coherency. The sequencing of songs is just baffling to me (ending the album with "Solipsis" and "Parallel Trance"? Really?).

Additionally, the songwriting here just leaves a lot to be desired. "Holomovement" is four minutes too long, "Solipsis" is two minutes too short. The whole album just leaves a impression of being half-baked.

Better luck next time, I suppose.

Yeah the more I listen to this the more I realize how haphazard everything is. All the ideas are cool, the organization of them all is just really poor.

I have no idea why they ended the album with Parallel Trance.

Really left me confused as to why they would finish with it.

They said in some interview that they "wanted to end the album on a high note." It didn't really do anything honestly.
