Connecticut quartet Make Do and Mend continue to develop their sound on 2nd LP 'Everything You Ever Loved'. Toning down their aggressive tendencies, this Matt Bayles produced album isn't slick, but does focus on melody more than any of their prior releases. Containing some gorgeous guitar tones, all components of the musicianship come together to craft an even, versatile & expansive record. Meanwhile, James Carroll's gruff vocals continue to improve, as do his fantastic lyrics which are heartfelt, introspective & relateable. The fact that MD&M are still a work in progress is strangely encouraging. Recommended Tracks: Desert Lily, Blur, Lucky & St. Anne.

Great review of a great album. I have so much love for this band. I saw them play an acoustic set at Warped this year and they were phenomenal, one of the highlights of that day for me.

I think you like to just get a rise out of people like me and andcas by rating great pop punk albums with low ratings : P

I don't, I just legitamately don't like this as much as you guys. I think my other account has this as a 3 but this is really a 2.5 for me.

Ask andcas, he knows how I 2'd bouncing souls' and mcc's last albums before you guys rated it.

boring isn't a passable excuse anymore?

besides, if we're talking all time low's new album I've given plenty of reasons why I don't like it. regarding most of the pop punk I dislike/am indifferent to, it's not catchy or fun to me and or they are very formulaic. catchy and fun are what pop punk is all about so if it cannot accomplish those two things, it's really not worth it.

now if we're talking blink-182, then I've definitely given plenty of reasons why I don't like them.

but it's also incredibly shallow, overproduced, and has terrible lyrics.

when going off that, they belong on mainstream radio.

Album still does it for me, Drown In It and Desert Lily are so great. Really glad I haven't tired of this yet. Wish they could have been at warped tour on my date, that was a bummer.
