''his last voyage must be one of the most beautiful prog songs ever''
Easily a top 3 GG song. In fact, it's my favorite right after ''In a Glass House''. The interplay between the instruments, the way it builds, and that sustain of the guitar solo!!! It's Kerry Minnear who is the lead vocal in that one. Ray Shulman must participate in the vocal harmonies. Song is so soothing and heartfelt.

Gotta love "his last voyage". There's somthing for everyone to be found. It prob took me at least 406 listens to work out what the hell was going on with the vocal harmonies in the bridge! And right after the solo you have Kerry playing a piano octave variation of the opening riff, whilst playing somthing totally different on a seperate keyboard with his other hand. Now that totally is the defination of Free Hand xD

I see what you did there :D
It happens to me to skip Talybont and/or Mobile. Not that they are bad tracks, it's just when I can't wait to listen to other stuff...probably to some other GG...

if this is that good I must check, one of their releases that I have neglected

It's consistently good. Varied but well balanced.

You won't be disappointed Some of their best tracks are on here. Both the normal and remastered versions are on spotify but I prefer the original. Just make sure you have a good sound source as always xD!

big time emphasis on songwriting on this one

If only the last two tracks were a bit stronger I'd 5 this hard. Idk how but this band always manages to put my least favorite tracks at the end (Plain Truth, River, Mobile).

I pretty much agree with you Sab. Those songs are not that enjoyable, especially when compared to the others all around them in their respective album. What impresses me is that even their songs that pass under the radar have somehow their pleasant moments. On reflection now (no pun intended), I might change my 5 to a 4.5

Oh no, now I feel bad haha.
"On reflection now (no pun intended), I might change my 5 to a 4.5"
You could just say that it doesn't matter (pun intended) then.

Fair point gents. I still think Mobile is a great track, especially the riff at the 2.20 mark, not to mention the menacing piano lick after the vocals haha.
Talybont has its charm, its just a very english piece that whisks you away to a meadow with sheep and dragons haha

On Reflection is such a great fugue
