Hell, I would even go as far to say it's the only good thing Skold ever did.

You started listening to him at his most emotional, I don't expect you to enjoy him at his newly found post-Reznor stage.

actually I think I heard Golden Age before Holy Wood, or at least around the same time, and it wasn't

til a year or so ago that I went back to Mechanical Animals and really started to enjoy it (before I'd

found it pretty boring).

This album feels like a mid-life crisis, stuck between his older, shock-rock days and the newer, Reznor-esque subtleties that I've grown to loathe on his past two albums. It doesn't bode well though, the whole album just feels disjointed and... well, forced.

Also, I don't know why this is in metal, MM hasn't been metal in years...

Golden Age Of Grotesque is his hardest hitting album. John 5 really helped that album to be his heaviest IMO. Also, the album is fun to listen to.

TGAOG is fun but it has a lot of boring stuff and it's overproduced

See for me his earlier albums are the more boring ones, where as Golden Age just fits together. Obviously it's my opinion, and we're all biased :P

Not sure what to rate this yet, the songs are beginning to stick in my head; was singing "Pistol Whipped" today while working.

I don't expect much when it comes to new Manson stuff, he's never going to be as good as he once was and I accept this, so by taking this shit at face value it's pretty damn fun, somewhere between a 3 and a 3.5

I love the Mansons verses and the bass line in "The Gardener"

I definitely noticed the bass tone in that song. It was really good.
