Picked this up earlier this year, it's pretty cool. I had never heard of the band before I read this review. Vocalist has a weird yell/scream though.

but when it comes to this album even meh killing joke is still pretty good

One of their best imo. These guys have kept making such strong albums since they made a comeback in the early 2000's, newer stuffs definitely as good as their early material for sure

Imo I've always preferred this band's metal sound over their post-punk one.

My top 5 would be something like:
1) Hosannas from the Basement of Hell
2) Brighter than A Thousand Suns
3) Killing Joke (2001)
4) MMXII
5) Absolute Dissent

4 and are pretty interchangeable tho

Easily prefer their post-punk era. First 2 albums are my favorites.
