New one is sorta a snoozefest
Maybe there's detail to attention or subtleties, but I'm not hearing them.

Is calling ambient music a snoozefest a thing?
|
| |
Very much a thing
It's not like the textures are even interesting.
|
| |
The new one just isn't as subtle as this or some of the other stuff I've heard from him, it's more beat driven and the textures are less defined and more ethereal which just makes them feel nondescript
It's pretty good just kinda generic compared to this

Probably not as good as Königsforst or this.

I like it more than his debut and Oktember however

With a 17 year comeback, kinda feel like I have to listen to it.

so far seems a lot more opaque and progressive in the sense that there's actually evolution throughout the songs now, for better or worse. Seems to be missing a bit of the magic of the 3 forest albums tho but bit early to judge.

atmospheric music is frequently dubbed "cinematic" but the new one actually earns that label. feels like a film score at points with how it creates a sense of drama. very cool

Why would you ever let sach's take on anything impact your desire to listen to?

Sach has turned me on to some good stuff on plenty of occasions.
