"pumping blood" was probably influenced by "skeleton veiled in flesh" as far as awfulness goes

Lou Reed and Metallica present: Freddy Got Fingered (A Musical Interpretation)

Great review. This album is mildly entertaining, in a way that I hope that this inspires Tommy Wiseau to start a record label.

The best conceptual albums work in all levels...

I bet any atheist can listen to Jesus Christ Superstar and still enjoy it.

Why? because the music is damn good. Creativity and inspiration can be heard.

Art is supossed to be enjoyed by everyone, regardles of their education or formation.

And this sucks, so freakin' hard: the more so because we have heard what both artists can achieve. Hell, Sweet Jane is one of my favorite songs ever...

This is like... Troll music.

Gyromania, fantastic review! Haven't heard this so I can't say how I like it, but the verdict doesn't seem to be a positive one overall. Who knows though :] a pos heading in your direction, sir.

Good review, sir! You have a pos incoming.

Album is trash, but the kind of trash that the people who love "Smile from the Streets You Hold" will "enjoy" and try to tell people is good.

Also:

You are right, I'm ignorant on this. But the difference between you and I is that I will check these plays out and educate myself. I don't stay ignorant.

I'm glad someone finally informed me that the purpose of music is to make us all read plays and thereby become enlightened. Sounds like a shortcut to nirvana or gnosis to me!

Good review dude. I totally disagree though. I don't know why everyone hates this so much, I mean, it's not great or anything but I actually like it, it's got a dirty, slummy, beatnik kind of feel to it, which it seems like most people on here don't understand at all. It's certainly nowhere near the worst album of the year. You have not dipped into the pop charts recently if you think this is the worst album of the year, I assure you, it is not.

If this shit came out in the late 70s when Lou was still in his prime and relevant, and Metallica were just starting off on their path of thrash, I bet this would have been hailed a classic. Context is a bitch I guess.

Has there ever been an album this uniformly hated?

Yes.

From a predominately well respected artist: no.

By the way, Gyro, ReLoad is a lot worse of an album than St. Anger

The least offensive song for me is Little Dog, it has a bit of interesting instrumental and Lou is much less annoying.

God awful album though.

Great review, yadda yadda ;)

What are your thoughts about Lou Reed's Berlin, Gyro? I'm curious, 'cause that's probably his best solo album.
