to review it on its own merits rather than in comparison to past blink stuff

I haven't listened to this yet, but I have an inclination to think the reviewer just doesn't like this as much because he grew up with blink, and now that he's older, it doesn't hit him as much, or at all. Orrrrrrr, maybe it's a shitty album. I'll see soon.

Travis' drumming is so so good on this album. Tom doesn't even get on my nerves at all. the only super negative thing I can think of to say about this album is that "Love is Dangerous" is one of the worst songs of the decade

I hate when people feel the need to constantly compare a bands current release to former material. It has been eight years since Blink last made music, of course this is going to be different. It is still awesome in its own right, and it grows with more listens. My highlights are natives, wishing well, MH 4.18.2011, and Kaleidoscope.
