Kind of, but not really. Reaching Home is their way to attract more mainstream audience. It's basically a pop song with some of their trademark elements. I like it, but I'm not crazy about it.

Yes I'm not digging Reaching Home as much as I first did. I get tired pretty fast to anything that's too pop related, so yes.

Easily my favourite song on this

reaching home does feature an incredible catchy guitar riff, but, its really overused, which would be why the song looses appeal with multiple listens. also the absence of a dramatic shift to growling indicates some mainstream ambitions. the problem is, it doesn't reach the the awesome mellowness of upwards or the energy of awake.
in general i think they managed to write even catchier parts then on silhuettes (which i really loved back when i got to know it) but didn't manage to create a heavy enough counter part (the heavy parts is where dualism is clearly inferior to silhuettes). also it lacks song that really stand out and kick ass like to erase a lifetime awake. last of all the new keyboarder isn't able to reach the old ambient sound. still a good new addition to their catalogue, i actually expected less since they had to change vocalists, but de jong manages to fully replace erik.

I was actually surprised when I found out that they have a keyboardist. The use of this instrument is not very noticeable throughout the album, but perhaps that was the point. I can say that I dig the heavy sections even more than mellower ones at times.

Today was my Minor Earth, Major Skies day, the last minute of the song is one of the best moments on the album.

So many people didn't give this album a chance, I'm still spinning it and enjoying it. Burning the midnight oil!

I really like the soft passages in this album but the some of the heavy parts seem like the band is kind of like .....ok guys...time to get heavy I guess. I really like the new singer a lot more than their previous one though. Sanguine Draws The Oath is a pretty awesome.

I was gutted when their old singer left but I've heard a few songs on youtube from this. Sounds fantastic so I'm definitely sold!

I think this might be my favorite Textures album. It feels like there is more groove to this one than previous ones. Also, enjoying the new vocals.

Upon initial listen, as many others have said, I much prefer the vocalist from Drawing Circles and Silhouettes more than on Dualism.
But I'll definitely give it more plays and see if or how it grows on me.

I don't get it. Textures used to be one of my very favorite bands and I would proudly recommend them to anyone (being a Dutchman). After this record I don't even go back to them, even though I loved Daniel's work with CiLiCe. Fucking baww :
