Love this album! Very influential on me. Great review!
Saw this tour in LA - VoiVod/Soundgarden/Prong. Fantastic show!

This album is truly excellent and stand the test of time. Hearing it in 2016, it's unbelievable that it came out in 1989.
An almost perfect blend of progressive rock and thrash. And then the cover of Astronomy Domine... easily one of my favourite cover versions of all time.
I was already a huge Voivod fan when it was released - and I still have Killing Technology and this on original vinyl, while I have Dimension Hatross on CD. I wanted this on CD as well, but it was sold out and I couldn't wait to get it, so I bought it on vinyl instead. And the same happened to Angel Rat...
After The Outer Limits I took a "break" from metal /thrash and dived into alternative rock and grunge instead and so I didn't really follow Voivod for a number of years until their two latest albums (Infini, Target Earth), but from I have heard, my favourites are definitely DH, NF and AR, with NF probably no. 1. KT is a bit raw and less experimental/exciting, while The Outer Limits to me always was a bit of a let down vs. the previous records (I think the songs in general were weaker).

This has excellent compositions.

Not a fan of their first two or Angel Rat, but the rest are great. I also think the Eric Forrest albums are pretty great, despite being so different.
Also Away's art is so great.

Yeah angel rat is great.

I'd say that the only definitively better thing that this has over DH is the production, however both rule (DH ruling more, ofc)
Just like Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets

Killing Technology is my favourite, Hatross at a close second. This one doesn't grasp me as much, I don't think I'm used to the prog influences

Got to see Voivod last week, was awesome as expected. Looking to get this on CD but it seems generally pretty expensive. Probably going to buy anyway.

ya 30 - 40 bucks on amazon seems the average. Coroner and Anacrusis are even more

Just grab em on discogs.com, way better to buy stuff there. You name dropped all my favorite thrash minus Aspid, planning on getting all of those eventually!

Aspid is phenomenal too. Don't forget Sadus and Mekong Delta. MD is my favourite thrash/prog band atm

Have yet to check those, will now. If they're anything like the aforementioned bands, I should be pleased. I'm still relatively new to thrash but I know what I like for sure haha
+1 for the Firefly avi
