the more i listen to this the more i realize that there isn't a single second of this record i do not thoroughly enjoy (not counting interludes. i don't dislike them but you know). this is so close to 4.5 for me.

i was listening to fables today too and it's still so magical. fables is probably the "better" album, but this one is funner to listen to, at least in an immediate sense.

Fables is great because of that "RRAAAAHHHH" before the secong chorus in Vica-versa. And many other reasons.

@IAmInsect

What you said is pretty much spot-on, imo.

Listening now. First few tracks COMPLETELY threw me for a loop after having listened to Fables for a while.

Rikki Tikki Tavi has some good moments, but the chorus is so laughable. I may lower my rating on this. I'm annoyed at Fair to midland trying to be Tool.

Might be their best record.

Finally starting to "get" this record. It definitely took some time.

Also, Short-Haired Tornado needs more love. I legitimately prefer its chorus over Golden Parachutes'.

"Whiskey and Ritalin" is one of best alt rock songs I've heard all year.

I probably like this more than Fables now, we'll see how it holds up.

The Greener Grass just makes me so happy it's like crazy and shit.

^This track has grown on me. Still, I don't think it's one of the best on here.

Guys, Rikki Tikki Tavi is supposed to be silly and laughable. How could anyone think they are trying to be serious? The air of the song reminds me of more recent System of a Down, or what I like to call "Happy Metal". Lighten up guys, they are just messing around...

long.

The last two minutes of The Greener Grass when you hear ambient sounds it kind of creep ed me out until the music picked up again.

So, should I go to my Best Buy and pick this up? I really want to, but is it worth the 15 or 20 bucks?

I'm a little tight for money, so I don't want to waste it.
